Are you a cosmetic scientist looking for an exciting new challenge?

 

Due to the expansion of our business, we are currently looking for a technical and creative Formulation Chemist to join our growing Research and Development team!

 

Enkos Developments is a specialist consultancy dedicated to designing unique products for beauty and personal care brands. We develop bespoke formulations across skin care, hair care, colour cosmetic and toiletry products based on a comprehensive understanding of our clients’ requirements, and provide guidance and support throughout the product development process.

 

At Enkos we have a scientific mind-set. Our technical knowledge and understanding enable us to develop high quality formulations that are safe, stable, effective and that delight consumers. We are very active within the industry and like to stay at the forefront of market trends, which helps us to create innovative and novel formulations.

 

This role is for an enthusiastic, confident formulator who will be responsible for working directly with our clients to deliver novel product concepts through to production-ready formulations. The role will be interesting and varied, involving a mixture of office-based research, meeting with suppliers and clients, and formulating in the lab. There is an opportunity for domestic and foreign travel to attend seminars, meetings and exhibitions.

We would like the successful candidate to:

  • Have at least 3 years of relevant work experience.

  • Have a strong scientific background, such as a Master’s degree in Chemistry.

  • Enjoy working with innovative brands to develop formulations from concept through to manufacture.

  • Be confident in developing a wide variety of cosmetic formulations, for example across skin care, sun care, hair care, hair styling and colour cosmetics.

  • Have a solid understanding of cosmetic regulations with up-to-date knowledge.

  • Have experience of successfully scaling up formulations from lab to production scale.

  • Have excellent communication skills, with the ability to discuss complex technical information clearly.

  • Be familiar with raw materials and suppliers that are available on the UK personal care market.

  • Be self-motivated and keen to take on responsibility.

  • Have a scientific approach to problem solving.

  • Have excellent attention to detail.

  • Be eager to learn and understand new technologies, and apply this knowledge to formulations.
