Are you a science graduate looking for a role in formulation science or to join the cosmetics industry?
Due to the expansion of our business, we are currently looking for a bright, enthusiastic Junior Formulation Chemist to join our growing Research and Development team!
Enkos Developments is a specialist consultancy dedicated to designing unique products for beauty and personal care brands. We develop bespoke formulations across skin care, hair care, colour cosmetic and toiletry products based on a comprehensive understanding of our clients’ requirements, and provide guidance and support throughout the product development process.
At Enkos we have a scientific mind-set. Our technical knowledge and understanding enable us to develop high quality formulations that are safe, stable, effective and that delight consumers. We are very active within the industry and like to stay at the forefront of market trends, which helps us to create innovative and novel formulations.
The Junior Formulation Chemist role is interesting and varied, and includes:
Helping to brainstorm and design new formulations in response to client briefs.
Researching and assessing market trends.
Making batches of trial formulations in the Enkos lab
Helping to collate raw material data and upload it onto our formulation software.
Developing a broad understanding of cosmetic product legislation and regulations.
Communicating complex technical information clearly and concisely.
Regular contact with clients, suppliers and other project collaborators.
Supporting and working alongside other team members.
We would like the successful candidate to:
Have a strong scientific education, including a Master’s degree in chemistry or a related subject with 2:1 grade or higher, and 3 A levels (or equivalents) with grade B or higher.
Be self-motivated and keen to take on responsibility.
Have a scientific approach to problem solving.
Have excellent attention to detail.
Have good communication skills.
Be eager to learn and understand new technologies, and apply this knowledge to formulations.
Previous cosmetic science experience is not required, but the role is also open to candidates with up to 3 years of industry experience. We are looking for an exceptional person who can help us continue to offer a high quality technical service to our clients.
This opportunity will be based in our modern laboratory and office in Leatherhead, and provides great scope for creativity and personal development. The successful candidate will be supported by our enthusiastic team, extensive training and a fully equipped laboratory.
